Come Back Butte Charter (CBBC) is a no cost public charter school authorized by the Butte County Board of Education and administered by the Butte County Superintendent of Schools through Butte County Office of Education. CBBC is for students who reside in Butte County or adjacent counties and who have not previously experienced success in traditional educational settings. CBBC serves students who are 16 years of age and older who have not completed high school for various reasons which may include: dropping out of high school, involvement in the correctional system, demonstration of at risk behaviors, caring for children and/or family members and/or belonging to migrant family communities.

Students are assigned all subjects needed by their supervising teacher. Students complete assignments independently at home or in the classroom computer lab. Students meet with their supervising teacher at least once a week.

Come Back uses the online curriculum Edgenuity, students can check out a Chromebook and/or a hot spot to access their schoolwork (depending on availability).

Students are assigned all needed subjects by their supervising teacher through Edgenuity, an on-line program. Edgenuity courses are Common Core and NGSS (Next Generation Science Standards) aligned. These courses combine direct-instruction videos featuring expert, on-screen teachers with rigorous assignments, performances tasks, and assessments to engage students and ensure subject-area mastery. Students are expected to work independently at home every school day to complete all assignments.

Come Back Butte Charter collaborate with Butte County WorkAbility 1 and Alliance For Workforce Development (AFWD) to offer students job related support.
WorkAbility 1 is a California Transition Program that provides high school students, 14‐22 years old, who are on a current IEP, with pre‐employment skills, paid placement/training opportunities, and student follow‐up.
WorkAbility 1 offers:
- Vocational assessments & evaluation of students interest and/or abilities;
- Career awareness/exploration activities, career preparation, job search and paid placement/training opportunities;
- Work‐based learning follow along;
- Follow‐up for 2 years after student leaves high school.
Alliance for Workforce Development (AFWD) Alliance for Workforce Development provides a single address where partnering agencies, each with their own identity and mission, provide core services focused on meeting the needs of job seekers and employers. Alliance for Workforce Development, Inc. through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), provides assistance for low income youth and young adults (ages 17-24) to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to overcome barriers blocking completion of their educational and/or employment goals.
AFWD’s Youth Program accomplishes this by offering activities, trainings, mentoring, recognition for achievement, and continued follow-up with youth to ensure their success.
